I was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin. I moved to the Madison area in the early 1960s, attending high school and college here. Except for about six years in my twenties, Madison has been my home. Many of the architectural icons around Madison hold a special place in the memories of my youth and have become one of the subject matters of my art.
The Art Deco movement that started in the 1920s has always fascinated me and many of the artists of that period have had a definite impact on my creative endeavors. Artists Albert Staehle, John Atherton, Leslie Ragan, and A.M. Cassandre have been particularly inspiring. A graphic designer by trade, I rely on using color, shapes and fonts to define a firmly Art Deco style. My training and 25+ years of experience have also brought a highly tuned sense of composition and balance to my work.
As an artist my goals are to enlighten people about this style of art, to share my love of the wonderful city of Madison, and of course, to see my work enjoyed by others. I would love to hear from you so feel free to call or send me an email.
