I was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin and raised and educated in the Badger State. My career included expertise in airbrush, technical and 3D illustration and graphic design. I am a retired graphic designer having worked at Promega Corporation in Fitchburg, WI for almost 30 years. I'm a builder/maker in wood and metal. I am also a guitar player (see speakeasyrock.com). I live in McFarland, WI with my wife Barb and Gibbs our dog. We have three grown children.
I have always been drawn to the stylized, precise work of the Art Deco period (1920-1939). I am a creative thinker and the execution of my ideas is controlled, deliberate and fairly precise.
My surroundings are a main source of inspiration. From the beautiful capitol city of Wisconsin to the great outdoors of the upper midwest.
I am a digital artist. My process starts with photography and I employ various photo manipulation and illustration software to create my images. Typography is also an important element in the creation of my Art Deco style artwork. My posters are high quality offset litho prints on heavy, archival paper.
